Background of “Ma City”
The comeback of BTS with their 4th extended play called The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2 was announced by their agency, Big Hit Entertainment, on September 8, 2015. On the EP, the song entitled “Ma City” is included as the fifth track. Big Hit Entertainment released the prologue video which includes the album track preview. “Ma City” and the album were supposed to be released in October. However, due to some reasons, the release date was postponed to November 30, 2015. After that, on November 19 and 20, Big Hit Entertainment released a short clip of each BTS member on their official Instagram account which tipped fans about the release of the album and the song. The tracklist of the album that includes “Ma City” as the fifth track was unveiled on November 26, 2016, through their official Twitter account alongside the other 8 tracks. The preview was uploaded on their official YouTube account. As a special occasion, Big Hit Entertainment pre-streamed “Ma City” by BTS for free on their official website for a limited period of 24 hours on November 27, 2015. Later, Big Hit Entertainment also released and uploaded the full audio version of “Ma City” by BTS on their official YouTube account on January 3, 2015.
